How to make a 1000MAh power bank

Today we are going to learn how to make a power bank from scrath with house hold items. The power bank uses rechargeable lithium ion batteries which acts the reservoir for storing electric energy. We are going to need lithium ion batteries.
Lithium batteries are prefered because of it capacity, light weight and the amount of current it can supply per charge. We need a 1000mah lithium ion battery to make a 1000mah  power bank, 5000mah lithium ion battery to make a 5000mah power bank.

The Mah of a battery means, it takes the battery of 5000Mah to supply 5 Ampere of current to a load for complete 1 hour. The AH (ampere hour) usually shortened into Mili(Mili Ampere hour) is a unit if battery capacity.

Components needed
  1. 5 lithium ion batteries
  2.  3.7v to 5v boost converter circuit
  3.  Casing
  4.  Connecting wires.

How it works.

The batteries are connected in parallel to increase their capacitance and current. When they are connected in parallel the total current produced it is almost 5 times each of the current each battery will produce, well as the capacitance. If it takes each battery to supply current/ voltage for one hour, the total time it will take them connected in parallel to supply current/voltage will be approximately 4 hours. The current coming from the batteries is 3.7v each. Smartphones requires 5v to 6v to charge. The boost converter circuit, converts 3.7v to 5v.
