Analog ICs also known as analog integrated circuits are extensively used in power electronics and oscillation circuits. They are use to process analog signals or current like amplification, regulation and oscillation.
These ICs are present in electronics like laptops, smartphones, inverters, AC-DC battery chargers, power supply circuits and induction heaters. Analog ICs are fabricated from thousands, millons and billions of passive and active components like capacitors, resistors, diodes and transistors on a block of semiconductor commonly silicon.
These ICs are manufactured by the process of photolithography, each components embedded into it are tiny that it can't be seen with bare eyes. Most super fast and intelligent systems are based on digital ICs, but they rely on varying signals processed by analog ICs which is converted back to digital signals by AC-DC converter. Common electronics relies on analog ICs for signal amplification, power convertion, oscillation and regulation.
Types of analog ICs.
There are many types of analog ICs, some can perform many operations like amplification, oscillation and regulation in circuits. While some can only perfom just an operation, this ICs are called application specific ICs.
•Oscilator integrated circuits.
They are use to convert DC into varying AC signals. It is a compressed bulky circuit packaged into a small size on a silicon wafer which is use to generate sine wave, square wave or triangle wave. They are use in many electronics like inverters, Tesla coils, induction cookers, radio transmitters and smartphone RF(radio frequency) communication circuits. Common examples of signals generated by oscilators includes, clock signals that regulates computers and helps clocks keep track of time, signal broadcast by radio, Bluetooth communications between smartphones or electronics devices.
There are different types of oscillators depending on their frequency of oscilation, they are listed below.
a. Frequency of oscillator(LFO).
These type of oscilators produce oscilation frequencies below 20Hz.
b. Audio oscilators.
They produce frequencies ranging from 16Hz to 20kHz.
•Radio frequency oscilator.
They produce high frequencies with ranges from 100kHz to 100MHz. This type of oscillators are use to produce high frequency AC for radio communication between long distances. This types of oscillators are use in induction heaters and Tesla coils.

•Amplifier integrated circuits.
These ICs are use for amplification of signals, audio, current and voltage. They're commonly use in DC-DC boost converter circuits, power banks and battery chargers. Some are use only for audio amplification. They are classified below.
